The Pacifica Shorebird Alliance bird count and observation collection site.

Contact us if you wish to be trained & participate. We are focusing on shorebirds along our coast with additional relevant observations.

We are currently using the data set used by CA State Parks HMB Western Snowy Plover volunteer program as a starting point.

 Observations:
 Observations are posted to a public "yahoo group" viewed at: PSA Bird Count 
 

This group will be  searchable. If you wish to search for text such as "oyster catcher", please keep in mind that some observers may enter this as an "oyster catcher" while others may use "oystercatcher". In this case searching for the word "oyster" would find the most relevant notes/entries. This holds true with herons, plovers, etc...

Please contact us for entries that should be corrected and re-entered -OR- that should be copied to paper and mailed to CA State Parks. (IE: Plover forms)

Photos will named so that they appear in order of date submitted with location code and short text of the subject matter. Format is: [YYYY_MM_DD] [code] [animal_description]. Some examples are:

Completed "paper" Western Snowy Plover forms  can be sent to our PO box (at bottom of page) for posting on this site and forwarding to HMB, -OR-  you can mail directly to them at:
